Well, we spent 3 1/2 hours today & drove a total of 45 miles, visiting 17 separate establishments, to spread the word about the group! We left a trail of postcards, business cards and programs. It might be standing room only at the next meeting! :-)
It's been a great year for the group! We've met some new members and been rejoined by some (figuratively) old members. We've all written on quite a few disparate topics and have shared our work. Some of us have been published. Some of us have finished novels. All of us have done a lot of writing!
If you've always wanted to write but have never got around to it, or if you're a writer who would enjoy the company and support of other writers - why not join us in the New Year? It's a very friendly group, and you definitely get out more than you put in. Happy New Year to all writers everywhere! :-) This was a really great meeting - it embodied what the group is really about. I.e. having in-depth discussions and genuinely trying to help and ecourage each other. Long may it continue! And here's the newsletter: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h_-hSH2qvSsIeWVl0DBlquYq6xA0dvNT2ZZGGnuGjDQ/edit?usp=sharing
What with renaming and rebranding the group, it's been rather hectic, but now it's very much business as usual, so here's the newsletter for June 2018! We really are a very friendly lot and our driving ambition is to EN-courage, not DIS-courage, so if you've always wanted to write & have never got round to it, or if you want to enjoy the company of other writers - come along and join us! The more the merrier! drive.google.com/file/d/1jr2sjjguEvMomrsXvcSfHMlchJy76Ekm/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jr2sjjguEvMomrsXvcSfHMlchJy76Ekm/view?usp=sharing We used to be the Gamlingay Writers Group, but met in Potton because it was convenient (and cheap). Now we don't have any members in Gamlingay we've renamed ourselves and created a new website. Consequently there's a new blog page with nothing in it. If you're anxious to delve into our history the old blog is still live - here.
